Belize, Feb. 2020

The project highlighted shows how a compressed earth brick press made in the USA was transported to Belize, Central America, where 30 volunteers worked together in this hands-on workshop to build a 144 sq ft Compressed Earth Block (CEB) eco-seed home for a family in need in just 5 days from the dirt beneath our feet – using OSE's open source Compressed Earth Block (CEB) press. A great example of open source technology combined with volunteer and education tourism.

Participants join together at hands-on, skills-building workshops to develop a lifesize, scalable, modular LEGO construction set, a modular, low-cost, high-performance platform that allows for easy, open-source fabrication of 50 different Industrial Machines to build a small, sustainable civilization with modern comforts and can be made at a fraction of commercial costs.
