BUILDING COMMUNITIES OF TRUST

Shift2Green develops sponsored mission-driven projects, activities, and events focused on sustainable community development.  Our activities and events foster conversations around issues affecting our lives. In partnership with local and international stakeholders, we build relationships that bring our community together to support causes that matter.

Stay tuned for 2024 events hosted by the Izaak Walton League of America, and the Des Plaines Theater

SHARING THE WISDOM OF THE ELDERS

The Peace Fire Circle extends the traditions established at Northeastern Illinois University by the elders in 1996 and around the world for peace gatherings where spiritual, educational, and corporate leaders come together as one community working for peace

OPEN SOURCE-TECHNOLOGY

The project highlighted shows how a compressed earth brick press, made in the US and transported to Belize, Central America, where 30 volunteers came together in this hands-on workshop to build a 144 sq ft Compressed Earth Block (CEB) eco-seed home for a family in need in just 5 days from the dirt beneath our feet.  A great example of open-source technology combined with volunteer and education tourism.

We can bring participants together in hands-on, skills-building workshops to develop a lifesize, scalable, modular LEGO construction set, a modular, low-cost, high-performance platform that allows for easy, open-source fabrication of 50 different Industrial Machines to build a small, sustainable civilization with modern comforts and can be made at a fraction of commercial costs.
