We build 3D printers and tractors. In One Day. And we build houses – in 5 days.

Unleashing Potential - The Open Source STEM Club

A mission-based business established to inspire interest in STEAM and Change the World through fun, impactful, and challenging learning activities that help develop career opportunities through hands-on learning and play.

Middle and High School Students meet throughout the school year to begin their pathway to success. Led by OSE Instructors, students work together to build 50 different industrial machines using play to model a small, sustainable civilization with modern comforts.

High School Students that complete all 50 industrial machines will have the chance to qualify for a fellowship with OSE founder, and TED Fellow, Marcin Jakubowski, where they will contribute to developing open-source life-size industrial machines that can be made at a fraction of commercial costs to empower at-risk communities around the world.

Are you ready to CHANGE THE WORLD?

Design that Matters.

Foster open collaboration with access to resources, knowledge, professional connections, and shared tools with projects that can meaningfully impact the communities you serve.

Connect your community and provide support, share lessons learned, and at the same time provide tools to boost projects that have a social impact.

  • Create social capital

  • Promote innovation

  • Provide tools to take action

  • Scale local projects

  • Build job skills

  • Foster entrepreneurship

Are you an educator? Build a 3D printer with us, earn professional development credit, join our Club for STEM education, and get involved in design that matters.

Innovation at work with your group, school, university, or library.

One of our open source partners OSE is developing a lifesize, scalable, modular LEGO construction set. The Global Village Construction Set (GVCS) is a modular, DIY, low-cost, high-performance platform that allows for the easy fabrication of the 50 different Industrial Machines that it takes to build a small, sustainable civilization with modern comforts. OSE is developing open source industrial machines that can be made at a fraction of commercial costs.

OSE Clubs.  OSE trains mentors in an intensive 3-day training session on prototyping, design, and collaboration.

OSE meets with mentors weekly to guide them along the OSE critical path, and in turn, the mentors guide their local teams.

Build a 3D Printer in 1 Day. Build your own open source 3D Printer step by step in a supportive, immersive work environment.

OSE Workshops. OSE's immersive workshops bring together vision, people, and materials to fuel real creative innovation.

OSE develops open source industrial machines and teaches how to build them step-by-step in hands-on workshops throughout the United States and remotely through video chat around the world.

Start your own Microfactory to produce goods and materials in your home, workshop, or community space. All work is open source according to the OSHWA definition.

OSE Competition. After training OSE hosts a big collaborative Extreme Manufacturing event every 3 months where we all meet - a friendly Coopetition where we build the things that we design together over a 3 month period.
